Facilities

Our two histology suites are used for preparing tissue for microscopic analysis. Extensive equipment are available for the preparation, embedding, and sectioning of biologic materials. The instrumentation includes two Hypercenters, complete paraffin embedding stations, ovens, refrigeration, and associated chemical support systems. Sectioning devices include two standard microtomes, an ultramicrotome, a Polycut sledge microtome and Ultramiller, and a cryostat configured to cut frozen bone sections. The laboratory has multiple saws for thick sectioning of implant/tissue specimens including three circular diamond saws and two EXAKT diamond band saws.
