Facilities

The laboratory incorporates three major facilities for Orthopaedic Research.

The main laboratory has now expanded to include approximately 8500 sq. ft. and serves as a central focus for all research in the section. It is well equipped, including a complete machine shop, materials testing facilities, biologic specimen preparation and storage equipment, complete histologic and microscopy support, major computing and image processing hardware and software, a unique microcomputed tomography system, a molecular biology laboratory, a cell culture facility, and the ability for in vivo investigation.

An additional 345 sq. ft. laboratory is located across the street from the main facility and adjacent to the animal surgery and care facilities. This laboratory serves to coordinate all animal surgery for our large animal studies.

Our third laboratory (700 sq. ft.) is part of our Sports Medicine Center (MedSport) and is particularly well suited for kinematic and physiologic measures on patients or human subjects.
